
15 Jamaat-Shibir people held in RMP Police

Police detained 15 Jamaat-Shibir members on a charge of their ill-motive to commit subversive activities and conspiracies against the government in Rajshahi city last night.
Police also seized zihadi books, banners for the procession, member collection forms, and donation and toll collection books from their possessions.
The arrested persons were identified as Rabiul Islam, 29, Abdul Aziz,37, Khalilur Rahman, 31, Rabiul Islam, 40, Kuddusur Rahman, 45, Shafiqul Islam, 45, Atikur Rahman, 46, Abdul Khaleque, 66, Nafiz Imtiaz, 19, Dishan Ifte Nabil, 20, Delwar Hossain, 55, Abdul Aziz, 36, Baqui Billah Bayazid 45, Rabiul Islam, 44, and Khizir Ahmed, 36.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique said the detained people were holding a secret meeting with an ulterior motive to hatch anti-government conspiracies besides conducting subversive activities.
On a tip-off, a police team conducted a sudden raid in a restaurant at Sonadighi crossing area under Boalia Police Station around 9.05 pm and arrested them red-handed.
A case was recorded with Boalia Police Station in this connection, the police commissioner added.
