340 more test positive for Covid-19 in Khulna

A total of 340 more people have tested positive for Coronavirus in all 10 districts of the division on Thursday till 8.00 am, climbing the number of infected patients and 1,27.104.

Three more death in the last 24 hours, so total fatalities from the disease reaches 3,252  including 826 in Khulna, followed by 798 in Kushtia, 529 in Jashore, 274 in Jhenidah, 190 in Chuadanga, 184 in Meherpur, 145 in Bagerhat, 124 in Narail, 91 in Magura and 91 in Satkhira while two more fatalities were reported afresh on the day, said Dr Monjur Morshed, Khulna divisional director of Health.

“Among the infected people, 1, 12,903 have, so far, been cured of the lethal virus with 402 new recoveries found on Thursday morning,” said Dr Monjur, adding that a total of 19,125 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here.

Besides, all the positive cases for Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 1, 28,171 were kept in isolation units of different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 1, 16,793 have now been released.

On the other hand, 27 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 31 others were released from isolation during the last 24 hours till 8 am today.

Of the total 340 new positive cases, the highest 76were detected in Kushtia followed by 61 in Khulna, 35in Jashore, 34 in Satkhira, 33 in Meherpur, 25 in Bagerhat, 23 in Narail, 21 in Chuadanga, and 16 eachin Chuadanga and Magura in the division.

With the new 340 detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 31,606 in Khulna, 24,735 in Jashore, 21,115 in Kushtia, 10,719 in Jhenidah, 8,176 in Satkhira, 7,801 in Bagerhat, 7,669in Chuadanga, 5,451 in Narail, 5,239 in Meherpur and 4,593 in Magura.

A total of 1, 05,516 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 in 2020 to prevent the community transmission of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

Of them, 1, 05,114 people, now, have been released as they were given clearance after completing their respective 14-day quarantine.
