4 districts under Khulna region people become happy to get essential TCB commodities

Selling of essential commodities activities for the second phase is in full swing and common people became very happy to get those at subsidised rates from the state-owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) in four districts under Khulna region like elsewhere across the country.
To keep the price in tolerable condition, a total of one crore low-income group of people are getting the commodities at subsidised rates following the directives of Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Commerce.
As part of the programme, at least 3, 94, 831 beneficiaries will get four essential items– pulse, gram, soyabin oil and sugar– through family card by 265 dealers in four districts– Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat and Narail– under
the region.
Talking to BSS today, Monjur Morshed, regional manager of Khulna TCB, said during the Ramadan a total of 3,94,831 card holders will get the essential commodities at subsidised rates in second phase from April 7 to April 20
while the first phase was started on March 20 to March 31 before the Ramadan.
“Each ‘Family Card’ holder will get two kilograms (Kgs) of pulse, two-kg of sugar, two-kg of gram and two liters of soyabin oil,” he said, adding that people can buy a litre of soybean oil for Taka 110, a kilogram of sugar for
Taka 55, lentil for Taka 55 and one kilogram of gram for Taka 50.
He, however, said beneficiaries already have taken family cards to purchase the commodities into two phases from the TCB.
Local body representatives, elite forces are helping the TCB trucks to sell the commodities in a disciplined way with proper queue to avoid rush of the buyers.
