Staff Correspondent: Dhaka, Feb-17,

Raising question over BNP’s ill activities, Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak  yesterday said those who were born from the womb of the military junta now teach democracy to the people.

“BNP had tarnished the holy parliament by stealing votes on February 15, 1996 and giving places the self-confessed murderers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members (in the parliament).

They again tell the people of our country about democracy,” he said.  He made the remarks at a view exchanging meeting with Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) mayor Selina Hayat Ivy and central leaders were in charge in NCC elections at Awami League (AL) president Sheikh Hasina’s political office in city’s Dhanmondi area.

Organising Secretary of AL for Dhaka division Mirza Azam conducted the programme while Awami League (AL) joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim also spoke. AL Organizing Secretaries Ahmed Hossain, BM Mozammel Haque and Afzal Hossain, Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Md Abdus Sabur and Deputy Publicity Secretary Aminul Islam Amin were also present, among others, on the occasion.
