7 KU teachers get VC Award
Khulna University Correspondent || 7 teachers of Khulna University have received Vice-Chancellor Award in recognition of their special contribution to research. 4 teachers for 2020 and 3 teachers for 2021 have been nominated for the award. The award was presented by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Mahmud Hossain today.
As the chief guest Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahmud Hossain said, ‘the launch of the Vice-Chancellor’s Award to inspire teachers in research. He said people work for fascination, not for recognition. Research requires constant effort and pursuit. However, recognition of work is needed to increase enthusiasm.’
Addressing the awardees, he said, ‘the dignity of the award must be upheld. We will also cooperate with the research as much as possible on behalf of the administration.’
The award-winning teachers of 2020 are – Professor of Mathematical Discipline. Md. Haider Ali Biswas, Professor of Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline, Md. Kamruzzaman, Professor of Bengla Discipline, Md. Rubel Anshar and Lecturer in Economics Discipline Syed Afroz Keramat. The award-winning teachers of 2021 are- Dr.Abdullah-Al Nahid Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering Discipline, Professor of Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline, Md. Nazrul Islam and Md. Ashfiqur Rahman, Lecturer in Development Studies Discipline.
They have presented a check for 50,000 taka, a certificate and a medal to each award-winning teacher at the event.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mosammat Hosne Ara spoke as a special guest on the occasion. Registrar (Acting) Prof. Khan Golam Quddus gave a short speech. Research Cell Director (current charge) Professor Kazi Mohammad Didarul Islam presided over the ceremony.
