857 more test positive for Covid-19 in Khulna

A total of 857 more people have tested positive for Coronavirus in all 10 districts of the division on Friday till 8.00 am, climbing the number of infected patients and 1,19,275. No more death in the last 24 hours, so total fatalities from the disease reaches 3,204, including 810 in Khulna, followed by 790 in Kushtia, 518 in Jashore, 269 in Jhenidah, 189 in Chuadanga, 145 in Bagerhat, 121 in Narail, 183 in Meherpur, 91 in Magura, and 88 in Satkhira while on more fatalities was reported afresh on the day, said Dr Monjur Morshed, Khulna divisional director of Health.
The new daily infection figure shows slight reductions compared to the previous day’s figure 934, said the health department sources.
“Among the infected people, 1, 09,614 have, so far, been cured of the lethal virus with 102 new recoveries found on Friday morning,” said Dr Monjur, adding that a total of 18,605 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here.
Besides, all the positive cases for Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 1, 21,181 were kept in isolation units of
different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 1, 13.580 have now been released.
On the other hand, 43 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 36 others were released from isolation during the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
Of the total 857 new positive cases, the highest 260 were detected in Khulna, followed by 213 in Kushtia, 94 in Jashore, 61 in Satkhira, 51 in Chuadanga, 44 in Magura, 32 in Narail, 29 in Bagerhat, 21 in Meherpur, and two in Jhenidah in the division.
With the new 834 detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 29,796 in Khulna, 23,538 in Jashore, 19,964 in Kushtia, 10,262 in Jhenidah, 7,604 in Satkhira, 7,292 in Bagerhat, 7,229 in Chuadanga, 5,175 in Narail, 4,886 in Meherpur and 4,386 in Magura. A total of 1, 04,888 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 in 2020 to prevent the community transmission of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19). Of them, 1, 04, 578 people, now, have been released as they were given clearance after completing their respective 14-day quarantine.
