Banks to remain open, transactions from 9:30am to 1:30pm

Staff Correspondent: Country’s commercial banks will remain open amid stricter 7-day lockdown that begins on Wednesday to contain the transmission of coronavirus.

The decision to keep the banks open was taken at an emergency meeting of Bangladesh bank held on Tuesday.

In an order signed by Bangladesh Bank’s general manager Md Anwarul Islam, said except for weekly and government holidays, the daily transactions at banls will continue from 9:30am to 1:30pm.
