Covid-19 : Ctg 580, Chapainawabganj 77 detected, more deaths one

A total of 580 people were detected positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours after testing 3,071 samples in 16 Covid-19 laboratories in the Chattogram district.

The Covid-19 infection rate in Chattogram hit almost 18.88 percent till Thursday morning.

Health experts warned that if the infection rate keeps increasing, the death rate would also increase.

With the diagnosis of 580 new cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients climbed to 1,21,572 in the Chattogram district, Dr Ilias Chowdhury, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told the media today.

At the same time, the number of healed Covid-19 patients rose to 1,01076 with the recovery of 466 more patients during the time in the district.

The average recovery rate currently stands at 83.14 percent in Chattogram city and district.

With no more new death recorded during the period, the death toll remains steady at 1,359.

A total of 3,845 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here.

Covid-19, Chapainawabganj

One more person died of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours till this morning, raising the total number of deaths to 163 in the district.

The new fatality is reported from Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.

On the other hand, the number of Covid-19 cases climbed to 6,422 as 77 more people were detected positive after testing 190 samples in the district during the time, Civil Surgeon Office sources confirmed.

At present, there are 457 COVID-affected patients in the district and of the seven patients are getting treatment in the COVID-19 dedicated hospital and others at home, the sources added.

Meanwhile, 5,804 patients with 10 new have recovered from the disease here, the sources further added.
