European stock markets climb at open

European stock markets climbed at the open Tuesday following gains in Tokyo.

London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index rose 0.2 percent to 7,479.18 points, as official data showed UK unemployment easing to a near five-decade low.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX index gained 0.8 percent to 14,069.79 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.7 percent to 6,390.12.
