Fugitive JMB member arrested in feni

Police has arrested an active member of a banned militant outfit ‘Jamatul Mujahedin Bangladesh ‘(JMB) after conducting
drive in Feni last night.

The arrested JMB member identified as Md Emdadul Huq alias Emdad Ullah, 45.

“Members of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of Bangladesh Police has arrested M Emdadul Huq following a overnight drive in Feni circuit house area under Feni Sadar thana on Thursday night”, said Police Super Mohammad Aslam Khan of ATU
(Media and Awareness Wing).

He was fugitive on the run for 17 years at different places including Feni as he was under trial in a case filed for carrying out subversive activities against the state with Kotwali police station of Barishal.

Emdad Ullah, also a son of Mawlana Shamsul Huq of Mandari village under Sonagaji thana of Feni, also stayed in Saudi Arabia from 2010 to 2014 after entering with Umrah visa.
