Govt planning to invest $80b by 2030 to implement climate prosperity plan: Finance Minister

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today said the government is planning to invest US$80 billion by 2030 to achieve climate resilience.
“To move from climate risk to sustainable climate prosperity, the government is going to implement the ‘Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan’, which is essentially a strategic investment framework for climate financing,” he said.
The minister said this while placing the proposed national budget for FY23 at Jatiya Sangsad in the city.
Kamal said the investment will be funded by both domestic and external sources.
