Harijan community seeks discrimination free society

The ‘Harijan’ community have called for ensuring a discrimination-free society with equal rights, dignity, opportunities and access to every sector like other citizens.
They placed their urge at a rally arranged under the banner of the district unit of ‘Harijan Adhikar Aday Sangathan (HAAS)’ in the Kachari Bazar area here on Sunday afternoon.
With President of ‘HAAS’ Suresh Basfor in the chair, it’s Advisors Nandalal Basfor and Kanailal Basfor, Office Secretary Ranjeet Basfor and Member Krishna Basfor, among others, addressed the rally.
The ‘Harijan’ community leaders urged to ensure their all social rights and stop all sorts of discrimination in the society.
They also demanded for ensuring equal job opportunities, proper implementation of their service quota fixed by the government and annulling disrespect and disparity what is sometimes shown to them by some people.
Suresh Basfor thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for keeping admission quota, service quota in sweeper, cleaner and ‘jharudar’ posts and service quota for educated ‘Harijan’ and ‘Dalit’ people and making them access to social safety-net programs.
He called for implementing government’s decision properly in appointing employees to the posts reserved for the ‘Harijan’ and ‘Dalit’ people as per the fixed government quotas.
