Hi-Tech Park to turn Khulna Industrial area into tech-based zone: Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak today said that Hi-tech park would turn the Khulna Industrial area into a technology dependent industry and create employment opportunities for the youths.

He said at the foundation stone laying ceremony of “Khulna IT / Hi-Tech Park” at Tutpara here today.

The State Minister and Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleq jointly laid the foundation stone of the Park.

The Hi-Tech Park is being constructed by Indian government fund on four acres of land at a cost of Taka 170 crore, said a press release.

Construction work of the park would be completed within two years and the opening of the park would create employment for 3,000 people and provide training to 1,000 young people every year.

Addressing the event, Palak said the park will have significant contribution in building a smart Bangladesh from a labor-dependent economy to a knowledge-dependent, developed economy.

Sheikh Salahuddin Jewel, MP, Information and Communication Technology Department Senior Secretary NM Ziaul Alam, Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Acting Assistant High Commissioner of India to Khulna Asim Kumar Santa, Commissioner of Police Mashiur Rahman Bhuiyan, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Moniruzzaman Talukder were present, among others on the occasion.
