Husband to die for killing wife in Laxmipur

A court here today sentenced a man to death for killing his wife at Uttar Charkadira village under Kamalnagar Upazila of the district in 2018.
District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Rahibul Islam handed down the verdict this morning.
The convicted was identified as Md. Liton, son of Chowdhury Maji of Uttar Charkadira village under Kamalnagar Upazila of the district.
According to the prosecution, on April 13 in 2018, Liton killed his wife Rubina Akhter at his house.
The family of the Liton tried to continue the murder as suicide and the victim’s father-in-law Chowdhury Maji informed the Kamalnagar police station in writing that she had committed suicide. The OC of the police station filed a case of unnatural death and assigned Sub-Inspector (SI), Mosharf Hossain, to investigate.
The body was later sent to the morgue of Sadar Hospital for autopsy. On May 29 of the same year, the final report of the autopsy came to the hands of the police and that Rubina was killed by suffocation after a head injury.
Later, police filled a murder case against Liton.

Later, the judge examining the 12 witnesses and evidences pronounced the verdict.
