
Iraqi Charge d’ Affairs meets with Commerce Minister

Iraq’s Charge d’ Affairs Abdul Salam Sadaam Muhaisen met with Commerce minister Tipu Munshi at his official residence here today.
At the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and Bangladesh, the expansion of trade and commerce of the two countries. During the meeting, the commerce minister said, `Bangladesh has many
opportunities to expand trade and investment with Iraq…..Therefore, if the visit of the trade delegation at the government and business level of both the countries are exchanged, then it would be easier to identify the trade and
investment sectors.’
He also said, the work of building 100 special economic zones in Bangladesh on the initiative of Sheikh Hasina is progressing at a fast pace and the work of many of them is now at the final stage. Rahman on his birth centenary and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh said,` Iraq is keen to increase trade and investment with Bangladesh’. He also emphasized timely renewal of trade agreements to increase trade and investment.
He invited the commerce minister to visit Iraq to discuss trade growth.
