Jatiya Basanta Utsab 1427 to be held at Suhrawardy Udyan

The Jatiya Basanta Utsab 1427, which has been regularly held at the Bakultala of the fine arts faculty of Dhaka University since 1991, will be arranged at Mukta Mancha of Suhrawardy Udyan on Sunday as DU is not providing venues for public events due to the COVID-19 crisis.  Jatiya Basanta Utsab Udjapan Parishad has been arranging the programme welcoming spring for more than two decades.  ‘We welcome spring annually organising Jatiya Basanta Utsab at different venues in the capital. This year we won’t be holding the festival at Dhaka University and Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi due to the COVID-19 crisis. We will arrange Jatiya Basanta Utsab 1427 at Mukta Mancha of Suhrawardy Udyan. The programme will begin at 730am. It will end at 830pm at the same venue,’ Manjar Chowdhury Sweet, general secretary of Jatiya Basanta Utsab Udjapan Parishad, told New Age.  Jatiya Basanta Utsab Udjapan Parishad in the past year celebrated the advent of spring organising special programmes at four venues in the capital including Dhaka University campus, Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi, Bulbul Lalitakala Academy in Waisghat and Rabindra Sarani in Uttara.
