Justice Nazmul Ahasan passes away

Newly appointed Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court passed away while undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital here this morning.
Supreme Court spokesperson Mohammad Saifur Rahman confirmed the news saying that Justice Nazmul breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital around 6.15 am.
Earlier on January 8, four High Court judges were elevated to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Justice Ahasan could not take the oath as he was tested positive for Coronavirus.
Chief justice Hasan Foez Siddique has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan.
In a condolence message, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
