Man gets 7 years jail for cyber crimes in Joypurhat

A trial court here today convicted a person and sentenced him to seven years behind the bar on a charge of his involvement in cybercrimes in Joypurhat district around four years back.
The court also fined the convict, Mahbubul Alam alias Milon Mahbub, a resident of the Professorpara area in Joypurhat Sadar Upazila, Taka one lakh, in default, to suffer one month more jail.

Rajshahi Divisional Cyber Tribunal Judge Ziaur Rahman found the accused guilty of the charge and handed down the verdict in presence of the convict.
Public Prosecutor of the tribunal Ismat Ara told the journalists that Rejaunnabi Monju, a sub-assistant engineer of LGED, had lodged a case with the police station concerned against Milon Mahbub related to his involvement in cyber crimes on March 8, 2017.
Upon completion of the investigation, police pressed charges accusing him. After examining recorded depositions of seven prosecution witnesses and other relevant evidence the tribunal pronounced the verdict.
