‘Nasir is a good human being,’ says JaPa MP Chunnu in JS
Staff Correspondent:- Jatiya Party (JaPa) member of parliament (MP) and former state minister Mujibul Huq Chunnu has said the arrested accused Nasir Uddin Mahmud in actor Pori Moni’s ‘rape and attempt to murder’ case is a ‘good human being.’ Taking part in the discussion on proposed budget of the fiscal 2021-22, JaPa co-chairman Chunnu termed he presidium member of his party as a “gentleman.”
Earlier on Monday, BNP MP Harunur Rashid demanded stern action against the culprits accused by actor Pori Moni in her case. Replying to the remark, Chunnu on Tuesday said: “Yesterday (Monday) an individual demanded justice for Pori Moni. A person has been arrested in the incident and I know him. He was the Uttara Club’s president. He is involved in Jatiya Party politics. He is a gentleman. I will request the media…………..”
However, his mike was off before he could complete his statement. Nasir Uddin Mahmud, who is a real estate businessman, is a JaPa presidium member. Actor Pori Moni alleged that Nasir tried to “rape” her at Dhaka Boat Club at Birulia near Uttara in the capital on June 8 last. She was also beaten there. However, denying the allegation of the actress, Nasir rather blamed Pori Moni for the incident.
