Preparatory meeting on Eid-ul-Fitr held in Khulna

With a view to observing the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslim Ummah, in a gaiety and smooth manner, a preparatory meeting was held on Thursday at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Khulna.
With Deputy Commissioner Md Moniruzzaman Talukder in the chair, the meeting was attended, among others, by officials of the district administration, elite, freedom fighters, journalists and Imams of various mosques.
At the meeting, it was decided that the main Eid-ul-Fitr Jamaat will be held at Khulna Circuit House ground at 8am abiding health guidelines after two years as coronavirus (Covid-19) situation reduced now while the second Eid-Jamaat will be held at 9 am at the Town Jame Mosque
Besides, it was resolved that the Principal of Khulna Alia Madrasa will leadthe main Eid Jamaat while Khatib of the Town Jame Mosque will lead the second main Eid-prayer.
The meeting also decided to follow the coronavirus directions set up by the religious ministry, asking mosques management committee, Khatibs and Imams to implement those.
It was decided that the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) and Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) will take all necessary measure for properly and befittingly prepare the prayers’ place, including decoration and cleaning.
The law enforcement agencies will also ensure law and order in all respect during the Eid period which was decided at the meeting and Power Development Board (PDB) was requested to ensure uninterrupted electricity in all the
areas under its coverage.
Besides the main jamaats, there will be a number of jamaat at different mosques of the city and the meeting also stressed on maintaining law and order at those places.
