RAB detains truck driver for crushing engineer couple in Ctg

The Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained truck driver Ali Hossain from Rajbari district last night who crushed under the wheels of his truck Engineer Iqbal Uddin Chowdhury and his wife on April 6.
According to RAB, Engineer Iqbal Uddin Chowdhury, 48, and his pregnant wife Sakhina Fatemi, 35, were killed under the wheels of a truck run by Ali Hossain as it hit their motorcycle from behind at the slope of Akhteruzzaman Chowdhury Flyover while returning from a doctor’s chamber.
Assistant Director (AD) of RAB-7 Nurul Absar told BSS that after the accident, local police seized the truck but Ali Hossain managed to flee from the scene.
Based on secrete information, the RAB team detained Ali Hossain from a house in Dangahatimohan village under Baliakandi Upazila in Rajbari district at about 11 pm last night, AD Nurul Absar said.
The accused has been handed over to the concerned police station for taking legal action, RAB added.
