Sadhan for forging social movement against drug abuses

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, MP, has called for forging social movements against abuse of drugs along with its illicit trafficking and trading.

He said the drug addiction cannot be checked through only conducting raids and punishing the addicts and traders. That’s why forging social movements has become crucial against the social menace.

The Minister was addressing the district law and order committee meeting at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) today as the chief guest.

He urged the district and police administrations to become careful about bringing the entire criminals in this field to book as soon as possible.

Sadhan Majumder said all the local government institutions side by side with the public and private bodies should come forward and work together to attain the cherished result in this regard.

He said the present government has a declaration of zero tolerance against drug-addiction and urged all quarters to come forward to protect the young generation from the grip of social crime.

“We have to build a healthy society to achieve sustainable development goals,” he said.

With DC Khaled Mehedi Hassan in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan Mian.
