Two killed road accident in Habiganj

Two people were killed in a road accident in Rukanpur area of the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Nabiganj upazila of the district this noon.
The deceased were identified as Arash Ali, son of Shah Zahur Ali, resident of Rukanpur village and Nureya Begum, wife of late Golap Ali of the village under Nabiganj upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Highway Police Parimal Dev said the accident occurred when a Sylhet-bound bus MR Paribahan from Dhaka crushed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, parked on the road, in the area, leaving auto rickshaw driver dead on the spot and injuring its passenger Nureya Begum.
The wounded was rushed to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex, where on-duty doctor declared her dead.
Police seized the bus but its driver and helper managed to escape, the OC added.
